Look great for virtual conferences, events, and meetings
Loren Turner, with The Mirror Hair Salon and Makeup Studio in Nashville, is a go-to stylist for film, video, and photography. Here are Loren’s top 3 tips for professional-looking makeup in virtual meetings:
ONE | Define your eyes. Your eyes are a focal point on video and deserve the most attention. Enhance the shape of your eyes with mascara, eyeliner, and shadow in colors that complement your natural eye color. Avoid shades with high shimmer.
TWO | Warm lip color is best. For business calls, avoid bright colors and high gloss (light gloss is fine). Look for colors that provide warmth.
THREE | Light, matte powder will reduce shine and provide a consistent look. Concealer under your eyes will make a difference. Less is more when it comes to foundation.
“Lighting is the most important factor in how you appear on-camera. If possible, avoid backlighting and overhead fluorescent lights. I recommend that you face the windows, so the natural light falls on your face, or use a ring light or lamp.” - Mimi Bliss, Bliss Communications
